Subjective and Objective Claims

In the reading it defines that a "Subjective claim: a claim is subjective if whether it is true or false depends on what someone (or something or some group) thinks, believes, or feels. A subjective claim invokes personal standards.
On the other the hand,a Objective claim: a claim is objective if it is not subjective. An objective claim invokes standards."

The following are an example of subjective/objective claims:


1.) It was so hot this weekend that you could fry an egg on the floor.
ANALYSIS: This is an subjective claim. Whether it's true or false depends on what someone thinks, someone else might think differently about this.

2.) Venus is the hottest planet because it has an atmosphere made of carbon dioxide.
ANALYSIS: This is an objective claim. Research in science has proven this so therefore whether it's true or false doesn't depend on what anyone thinks or believes.
